Podimo
Podimo is a Danish podcast and audiobook service that was founded in 2020. Podimo originally included only podcasts, but in 2021 audiobooks for both adults and children were added.
Podimo’s main goal is to deliver podcasts in a long-term way for listeners and podcasters alike. This means that a portion of Podimo’s members’ subscription fees are paid to podcasts, ensuring that they can create high-quality podcasts with the best possible material.
Morten Strunge and Nikolaj Koppel, both well-known musicians and TV hosts, have created Podimo. Podimo’s goal is to become the Danes’ favorite source for podcasts, which is why Podimo has a wide selection of high-quality material. In addition, Podimo strives to deliver as many unique podcasts as possible that you won’t find anywhere else.
Podimo offers a free trial so you can try it out before you decide to subscribe. It is now possible to get Podimo for free for a full 2 months, which is the longest period available for audiobooks in Denmark.
How to use Podimo?
The Podimo app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. The software is free to download and can be used by most Apple or Android devices. When you get Podimo for free for a trial period, you have full access to all features and material. The first screen you see on Podimo is called “Discover” and provides an overview of topic categories as well as some of the most popular podcasts and audiobooks. You can quickly find the material that interests you by looking at the subject categories. In the app, you can create a personal folder called “Your Library” where all podcasts and audiobooks are stored.
You can also use the app’s search function to find the podcast, audiobook, author or podcast host you want. Simply click on it to start listening.
Is there content for children on Podimo?
Podimo has a large children’s section with both podcasts for children and audiobooks for children. The entire children’s area is free for 60 days and is accessible via Podimo. Here you will find podcasts with well-known hosts and hosts who have previous experience with television or radio for children. In the podcast series “Mads og Børneholdet”, which is the children’s version of “Mads and Monopoly” on Podimo for adults, Mads Steffensen takes part. We recommend the podcast series with Uncle Reje, which has made us laugh at RAMASJANG.
Podimo has a large selection of audiobooks for children. This is due, among other things, to Podimo taking over the popular audiobook service Fairytell, which was known for its content for young people. This means that there is a lot of material available to begin with at Podimo – both young and old children will be able to enjoy it! That’s why there are plenty of well-known titles for both the very young and older tweens and teenagers.
Podimo offers a 60-day free trial where you can listen to children’s audiobooks such as Peter Pedal, Rasmus Klump, Sally’s Father, The Moomintrolls, Frost, Bear and Chicken, Jaws & Andrea, Gurli Gris and many more. For the older children there are Marvel stories as well as a wider selection of young adult novels.
